Skin Friction Measurements on the NASA- Hump Model
In 2004, WInD was approached to aid with measurements on the NASA-Hump model being tested in the Basic Aerodynamics Wind Tunnel (BART) at NASA-Langley Research Center. The NASA-Hump experiment was designed specifically to provide experimental data for the validation of computational fluid dynamic models. WInD personnel traveled to NASA to carry out the tests, and provided the final results to NASA for inclusion with the other data sets taken. This validation experiment is still highly used for computational validation.
