History

Wyoming Instrumentation Development LLC (WInD) was founded in 2004 providing specialized aerodynamic measurements to industry, government labs and academia.  WInD’s primary expertise was the measurement of skin friction or viscous drag.   Wind later diversified into using their testing facilities and those of the University of Wyoming for measuring complex flows such as dynamic stall and identifying means of quantifying drag reduction.  The drag reduction work has been the primary focus of WInD in recent years with both the U.S Air Force and Navy funding work for drag reduction on aircraft.  WInD is currently partnering with companies with complementary expertise seeking to commercialize drag reduction systems for various applications.
